The Boy Scout Series is a suite of five acid-tint lithographs inspired by a friend’s experiences as an Eagle Scout, expressed in a graphic style that echos the early printed illustrations by Norman Rockwell published in Boy’s Life Magazine.

Acid-tint lithography is an especially rare form of lithography where the image is created by etching a black flat with acid washes. A delicate, smoky texture is produced, but the image on the stone usually only lasts for very small editions. Color printing is especially difficult. The Boy Scout Suite is handprinted by the artist on Arches BFK paper, each with a color palette of red, green, black, white and transparent. 10 x 11″
